What do you do for your company?
Sanctuary of Zen hosts a wide variety of services – Meditation, Massage, Energy Healing (Reiki, Tameana, Shamanism), Nails, Microblading, Eyelash Extensions and a Metaphysical Supply Shop featuring crystals and semiprecious stones. I, Dana, am the glue that holds it together.

What is the goal of your business?
The overarching goal of The Sanctuary is to provide a nurturing space for Kamloops residents and visitors for rejuvenation on any and all levels.

How long have you lived in Kamloops? If you were not born and raised in Kamloops, why did you move to Kamloops?
I have been here for almost all of my life and love it here.

What makes your company so special?
The people that work at the Sanctuary are, without exception, kind and generous, and this is evident in the energy of the Sanctuary itself. Most visitors comment on the amazing feel of our special space.

How long have you been in your current location?
Since October 1, 2018.

Why did you choose to be located in downtown Kamloops?
Downtown Kamloops is the location of choice. The goal of the Sanctuary is to be exactly that – a haven of calm in the midst of the hustle and bustle of a busy downtown core. Additionally it is a central point of access for a city that is quite spread out.

What’s your favourite thing about downtown Kamloops?
The thing I love the most about being downtown is the amazing people and small businesses that all contribute to the flavour of our city. There is a true wealth of diversity in the services and businesses in the downtown core.

What are the three best things about working in downtown Kamloops?
Access to great restaurants, shopping (love Jardines!) and friendly people.

What do you wish you knew now when you think about starting your business?
Being able to understand how much support was available to me from the people that I work with.
